Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The Western Finger Lakes Authority is holding a collection for household hazardous waste and electronics for the residents of Wayne and Yates Counties. Residents must make an appointment by calling WFLA office during regular business hours (8:30am-5:00pm, Monday thru Friday). There is no charge for any materials, except for a $5 fee for each computer monitor and television. For more information please call 800-724-3867 or to make an appointment.

Nominating Committee for the Board of Ethics

Closure of Lower East Lake Road

Due to public safety and poor condition work must be done on the box culvert located near 626 East Lake Road. The Barrington Highway Department has set a tentative start date of July 28, 2008, which may be changed due to weather conditions. The Highway Superintendent apologizes for any inconveniences. This section of the road may be closed for up to three weeks.

Extension of Local Law 3 of 2007 to Establish a Moratorium for the Town

The Barrington Town Board extended Local Law 3 of 2007 to Establish a Moratorium for the Town of Barrington for another six months.



Local Law No. 2 of 2008 to Establish a Board of Ethics

Local Law No. 2 of 2008 to Establish A Board of Ethics was passed by the Town Board at the Town Board Meeting of May 28th, 2008 by a five to zero vote. The law has been sent to the Town Attorney for execution of his certification and then will be sent on to the Secretary of State.



Mowing County Roads in Barrington -NOT done by the Town this year!

The Town Board and Highway Superintendent would like the public to know that the Town of Barrington Highway Department will not be mowing the roadsides of the County Roads located in Barrington this year. The County has decided to do their own mowing. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Yates County Highway Department and/or our Legislators.

Dumping Materials at the Barrington Highway Department

Due to illegal dumping that occured at the Barrington Town Garage, The NYSDEC has made the Highway Department gate off all entrances. Residents will still be allowed to dump materials listed below during regular business hours by calling (607)-243-8323 or (607)-243-5323. The materials that are accepted are: Leaves, Brush, Trees, Stumps, Dirt & Rock. Also...By APPOINTMENT ONLY...Metal and Batteries are accepted. We appoligize for any inconvenience.

Local Law No. 3 of 2007 to impose a moratorium for the Town of Barrington

The Barrington Town Board, at its meeting of November 14th, 2007, has passed Local Law No. 3 of 2007 to establish a moratorium for the Town of Barrington. It is now on its way to the Secretary of State at which point it becomes effective. To see a copy of this local law please stop by the Barrington Town Hall Tuesdays thru Fridays from Noon until 5:00PM or Saturdays from 8:00AM until Noon.
